I frequent Creekside with my family. During the warmer months, we walk here. During the colder months like now, we drive and park in the free parking lot. The other great thing about this public space is that it’s near many local small businesses, from boutique clothing shops to eateries.
The park is always kept clean, and there are never a lot of people present. There are quite a few walkways, trails, and bodies of water. The ponds that pond that they have there is filled with lots of ducks during the warmer months. You can even feed them as long as you do so and follow the rules (no bread). One of the wooden walkways takes you to a marsh area filled with snapping turtles.
Starting in December, they put out the lights. The colors are quite a spectacle. We took our 2-year-old there, and it was quite stimulating for him. He was in complete awe and thoroughly engaged. My favorite thing there during this time is the display near the fountain area. There are these balls, strings, and snowflakes of lights that blink to the sound of the Christmas music they have present. The best part of all of this is that you do not have to pay for this wonderful display.
